Jane Joseph Marie Ward, 84, of Moundsville, WV, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at her home.
She was born in Wheeling, WV, on July 12, 1941, the daughter of the late Elva and Edna (Renforth) Oliver. Jane was a Free Will Baptist by faith. She dedicated many years of her life to work at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in housekeeping. Outside of her professional life, Jane found joy in playing bingo, creating beautiful ceramics, and crocheting intricate pieces that she often shared with loved ones.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry Ward; a son, William Noah Arthur Arnold and a granddaughter, Miranda Arnold.
Jane is survived by her four children, Robert (Terri) Arnold of Moundsville, Edna (Brent) Wells of Beverly, WV, John (Ann) Arnold of Moundsville and Becky Ashwell of Moundsville; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jane’s life at a visitation on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
