Dorothy “Dottie” Warren Stobbs Richardson, 86, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Liza’s Place, Wheeling, WV.

She was born on April 5, 1939, in Wheeling, WV, daughter of the late Clarence W. and Helen Stamm Warren.

Dottie graduated from Triadelphia High School. She later married, had three children, and moved to Dimmeydale where she was known for baking chocolate chip cookies as an after school snack for the neighborhood kids. It was then she began her running career and went on to compete in various marathons; however, the most important part of running for Dottie was always training alongside her close friends and deepening those bonds of friendship. Dottie was later manager of the Hole ‘N Run athletic store where the owners became family. After her retirement, she began taking art lessons which brought her extreme happiness up until her final days.

Dottie was always committed to her faith, and she grew up going to Christ United Methodist Church. When she moved to Elmhurst, her bedroom overlooked the church steeple – which brought her much joy. Inspired by her Christian faith, she also led a life of service, having participated in the Florence Crittenton Junior Board, Catholic Charities, Meals on Wheels, Prison Ministry, and multiple bible studies.

Dottie was richly blessed by the deep relationships she had with her many friends. If you were a friend of hers, you knew it. Whether you had known her for years or just met her, she was always inspiring and never failed to have a hilarious one-liner on hand.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Richardson; former husband Hugh Stobbs; and sisters Sharon Kettler and Janie Agent.

Dottie is survived by her three daughters and a son, Cathy (Jay) DeFruscio, Susan (Phil) Brossman, Tracy (John) Capuder, and Greigh (Laura) Richardson; sister Suzanne Curtis; eight grandchildren, Katie (Nick), Hooter (Carson), Annie (Bill), Lucy (Patrick), Betsy (Woody), Ali, Wesley, and Maggie; five great-grandchildren; and special friend, Ron Klug.
