Mary’s nurturing spirit found its true calling as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the former Ohio Valley General Hospital in Wheeling. Her gentle hands and kind heart touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues, leaving a legacy of care and compassion that will not be forgotten.
A devout member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, Mary’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a proud and active member of the Our Lady of Mt. Lebanon Women’s Society, cherishing the bonds she formed with her church family.
Mary cherished life’s simple pleasures, often taking long walks and spending treasured moments with her family. She found immense joy in the laughter of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. With a word search book or crossword puzzle always nearby, she embraced the beauty of words and the challenge of puzzles. Her hands were never idle, crafting beautiful cross stitch and knitting projects, and preparing delicious meals that warmed the hearts of family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Margaret (Kerey) Schlog; her beloved husband, Robert Joseph Saseen; and her brother, Tom Schlog, Mary now reunites with them in eternal peace.
She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her devoted sons, Philip Saseen (Denise Harris) and Robert “Robbie” Saseen (Tammy Strong); her brother, Jim (Sandy) Schlog; her grandchildren, Adam (Justyna), Alex (Jackie), Jeremy (Samantha), Jordan, Vanessa (Trey), and Ciara (Jake); and her great-grandchildren, Bodhi, Asa, Gia, Genni, Gemma, Emmett, Tillie, and Jensen.
