Faith Schmitt, 86, of Bellaire, Ohio, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 10, 2026 at Liza’s Place.
She was born November 24, 1939, in Red Lion, PA, a daughter of the late Merle and Jean (Dalby) Kauffman. Faith was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her beliefs guided her choices and gave her a sense of purpose and a hope for the future. In quiet ways, she showed commitment to her family and her faith. She leaves behind memories that will remain with those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Schmitt.
Faith is survived by her son, Timothy [Melanie] Schmitt of Bellaire, OH; her grandson Addison Schmitt of Liberia, Africa; her granddaughter Marissa Schmitt of Gardiner, NY; her three sisters, Kay Gonzalez, Diane Orum, and Melody Botizan.
We want to extend a special thank you to Valley Hospice who lovingly and patiently watched over her for the past two years, along with Liza’s Place where she (and her family) was cared for with such kindness and dignity from the doctors, the nurses, the aides, the cleaners, and the chef. Thank you for making such a difficult time in our lives a little easier.
