Joel Adam Means, 32, of Triadelphia, WV, passed away unexpectedly on February 24, 2026.
He was born in Wheeling, WV on November 5, 1993, the son of Dawn (Ream) Means and Ken Means. Joel was a talented drummer with a deep passion for music that resonated in every beat he played. His love for animals was evident in the care and affection he showed to his beloved pets, who brought him much comfort and companionship, especially his cat, Xena. Known for his quick wit and humor, Joel had an innate ability to bring smiles to those around him. His laughter was infectious, and his presence brightened any room.
Joel is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Ronald and Joanne Means; his maternal grandfather, Fred Ream; an uncle, Michael Ream and a cousin, Zachary Means.
He leaves behind his loving parents, Dawn Means and Ken (Stephen Chupinka) Means; his maternal grandmother, Lucy Ream; his paternal step-grandmother, Della Means; his great-uncle, Jason Sayre; his great-aunt, Janey Simonetti and family; two aunts, Anne (Weldon) Howard and Judi Ream; one uncles, Rick (Corlynda) Means; eight cousins, Jessica Howard, Kimberly Howard, Kayla Howard, Kaci Ryder, Nathaniel Ream, Allie Ream, Nickolas Ream and Jessica Tarkenton and his lifelong friend, Seth McKivitz, whom he thought of as a brother. In addition, he leaves behind many friends in the recovery community.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 1-4 pm at The Unity Center, Benwood, WV, 26031.
