William Paul Midcap, 70, passed away on April 16, 2026, at Liza’s Place in Wheeling, WV. Bill was born on September 15, 1955, in Wellsburg, WV, the son of Warren and Esther (Burch) Midcap.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother Lee Midcap, grandparents Charlie and Mae Lewis and George and Leoma Burch, and nephew Donnie Hanson III.
Bill is survived his wife of 45 years Wendy Hanson Midcap, sisters Debbie (John) Cunningham and Christie Cornelia; nephews John Reuben, Austin (Lake) Cunningham, Kaine (Andrea) Thomas, Kyal (Kailee) Thomas; and nieces Alex (Max) Cornelia Menaker, Lacy (Ralph) Burkhart and Ashley (Scott) Taylor; sister-in-law Vicki (Danny) Hanson Thomas; brother-in-law Donnie (Dottie) Hanson; grandsons Camden and Lance O’Neal and their parents Alicia Ring and Marqez O’Neal; and special friends Paula Ring and Krystal Bartimac.
Bill retired from Weirton Steel after 31 years and then worked as an operator for the city of Wheeling for 13 years and received an Associates Degree from West Virginia Northern Community College. He loved the Las Vegas Raiders and West Virginia Mountaineers and was a member of Newbridge Church.
