David Allen Newman, age 59, passed away on April 21, 2026 with his wife Cassandra by his side.
Born on August 3, 1966, David found his greatest joy outdoors. Before his illness, Dave was an avid sportsman, he was happiest when he was fly fishing on a quiet stream or out hunting.
He shared 19 great years of marriage with the love of his life, his wife, Cassandra Newman. Their two decades together of solid love, partnership, and shared memories.
David was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Newman IV. Also, preceded by, his in-laws, James Berry Jr, and Linda Berry.
He had a remarkably deep and cherished bond with his mother, MaryAnn Newman. She was incredibly special to him, and their unique connection was a source of pride and comfort throughout his life. He loved his mother deeply.
His memory will be kept alive by his mother, MaryAnn; and his siblings, Lewis (Cheryl) Newman V and Genia (Tim) Hammers. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Lewis Newman VI, Nicole Newman, Jennifer and Jacob Gibson, and Travis, Theresa and Justin Hammers, great nephew Randy Gibson. Dave’s wife, Cassandra, and in-laws, Carmen Watson, Crystal (Eric) Hall, Cynthia (Robert) Hall and nieces, Auriana, Jazslyn, Lauren, Christian, and great nieces and nephews, Jayden, Derek, Demi & Nevaeh will also keep him close in our hearts and memories.
Dave was truly loved by everyone around him. He loved to joke around, and sometimes to the extreme that made a lasting impression on everyone he met. His love for his family, and the spirit of adventure he carried into the woods and waters and his jeep he loved so much. He will also be remembered for being an avid Steeler fan.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 10 am until time of service at 11 am at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bishop’s Chapel with interment to immediately follow.
