Ruth Kimmins Frye, 92, of West Alexander, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Wheeling Hospital.
She was born on May 29, 1933, daughter of the late Willis R. and Lillie Lydick Kimmins.
Ruth was a graduate of Triadelphia High School, a retired purchaser at WesBanco, and a former clerk at the former 1st National Bank, Wheeling, WV. She was a Methodist by faith.
She was very active in the community and with the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play baseball and volleyball and watching her granddaughter’s dance videos.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, John “Sam” A. Frye in 2007; and a sister, Helen Gene Earnest.
Ruth is survived by her three children, Jeffrey A. Frye, Jennifer F. (Doug Gatten) McNamara, and Jason A. (Erica) Frye; three grandchildren, Melody (Justin) Moon, Caroline Frye, and Wesley Frye; a great-grandson, John Moon; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at Kepner Funeral Homes, 900 National Road, Wheeling, WV (304-232-2732) where services will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 11:00 am with Reverend Bruce Graff officiating. Interment will follow in West Alexander Cemetery, West Alexander, PA.
