Wendell Eugene Scott, 78, of Wheeling passed away on Tuesday April 28, 2026 in Wheeling Hospital.
He was born in Martins Ferry, Oh on June 21, 1947, son of the late Hubert and Mary Ruth (Walls) Scott.
Wendell was a coal miner at Valley Camp #1 and a baker. He enjoyed working with wood, fishing, gardening and baseball. Family gatherings were the best times.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Scott and sister, Eloise Tharye.
He is survived by his children, Wendy (Bob) White, Tracy (Scott) Lefkay, Wendell (Mary) Scott, Jr.; mother of his children, Charlene (Tom) Feldner; grandchildren, Joshua Bachman, Scott Bachman
Ashley Lefkay, Kirsten Lefkay, Sierra Scott; great-grandchildren, Finn Bahman, Faye Bachman, Wynree Renyolds; significant other, Rebecca Hartley; step children, Megan Parks (Brian Frank), Alan Parks (Makenna Passarello; step grandchildren, Jay Frank, Braxton Passarello and several nieces.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 9, 2026 from 2 pm – 6 pm at 2200 Marshall St., Benwood, WV.
