Thomas Coddington

Thomas John “Tom” Coddington, Sr., 72, passed away on May 12, 2026, at WVU Medicine – Wheeling Hospital. Tom was born in his hometown of Wheeling, West Virginia, on July 18, 1953.

Tom dedicated over 34 years of his life to the former Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel – Mingo Junction plant, until his well-deserved retirement.

Tom was affectionately known as a “jokester” by his family. His humor and warmth brought joy to those around him. He found joy in the simplicity of life and spent many happy hours on the golf course, indulging in one of his favorite pastimes.

Preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie J. (Sargent) Coddington, Tom leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his son, Thomas J. “T.J.” Coddington, and T.J.’s partner, Brie Taylor; his sister, Ruth M. (Thomas) Wilson; his brother, Brian (Alice) Coddington; and his cherished grandchildren, Dakota (Nate) Myers, Haley Coddington, and Kalin Coddington. He also leaves behind his nephews, Brent and Bobby Wilson, who fondly remember his kindness and humor.
