Marlene Marie Womack, 66, passed away on May 11, 2026, at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV. Marlene was born on November 17, 1959, in Pennsylvania.
Marlene is survived by daughter Shawnta’ Smith of Wheeling; son Branden Womack of Wheeling; grandchildren Tae’Shawn Creighton of Washington, PA, Tae’Leigh Bumgardner of Wheeling, Riley Womack of Mozart, WV, and Ezra Womack of Moundsville, WV; life partner Felix Sharp of Wheeling; Godchildren Charles (Chuck) Wallace, Samneisha Walker, Rae’Keisha Knight, Samar Jones, Junessa Robinson, Taqueon Marshall, and Javohn McClug; many beloved nieces and nephews from all over the country; dear friends near and far; and pets Bruce and Bella, who were like her children.
Marlene graduated from West Moreland Community College with an Associates Degree in Business and managed both an IHOP in Maryland and a Little Caesars in Pennsylvania. Additionally, she was a state certified home daycare provider who cared for many children who came into her life.
She loved dogs and always had at least one dog as a pet at any given time. A great listener, she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and bingo as well as talking and laughing with her friends.
Marlene’s private arrangements have been entrusted to CARE Funeral and Cremation Services South Wheeling Chapel.
A celebration of life will be held in August at the convenience of her family.
