William “Bill” Daniel Kotson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, in McMechen, West Virginia. Born on February 13, 1973, in Glen Dale, West Virginia, Bill lived a life full of love, dedication, and passion for his family and interests. He was 53 years old at the time of his passing.
Bill was a skilled Journeyman Union Carpenter, known for his hard work and commitment to his craft. Outside of his professional life, he found joy in spending time with his cherished granddaughter and being outdoors, especially enjoying camping trips. He also had a deep appreciation for classic cars and spent many hours working on them.
A man of faith, Bill was a Christian who carried his beliefs into every aspect of his life, providing a strong foundation for his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, William M. Kotson. Bill leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Deb Kotson; his mother, Barbara Livingston; his children, Iesha (Noah) Hill, Cade Kotson, Seth Kotson, Rochelle Ruthers, and Katelyn Ruthers; his siblings, Matt (Lori) Kotson, Jamie Kotson, Bruce (Jacklyn) Kotson, Andy (Ashlie) Kotson, and Wendy (Steve) Schrumph; and his adored grandchildren, Nya, Gracie, Olivia, and Sawyer. Bill is also survived by many close friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday, July 6th, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at CARE Funeral Home Moundsville Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the same location. Afterward, a graveside service will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Moundsville.
