Charles Moore Silcox, born on May 31, 1969, in Woodbury, New Jersey, passed away on July 3, 2026, in his hometown of Cameron, West Virginia, at the age of 57.
Charles served his country with honor in the U.S. Army and was recognized for his exemplary service during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. His dedication and bravery earned him a Certificate of Commendation and The Army Achievement Medal, testaments to his meritorious service.
As a self-employed laborer, Charles was known for his willingness to help others and his great sense of humor, which brought joy and laughter to those around him. Outside of work, he found immense joy in the great outdoors. His love for life was evident in his passion for hunting, fishing, picking mushrooms, and embarking on nature hikes.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph E. and Nancy A. (Masson) Silcox, and his newborn daughter, Charley Lynn Silcox. He is survived by his beloved son, Harry Silcox; his sister, Dawn Weigle, and her husband, Joe; his brother, Edward Silcox; and his nephew, Jordan McNeely, along with Jordan’s wife, Katelyn. His loyal dog, Prissy, who was a cherished companion, also survives him, as do countless friends who regarded Charles as family.
