Thomas J. Beatty, 81, of Wheeling, WV passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at home surrounded by family.
He was born September 21, 1944 in Wheeling, son of the late William Edgar Beatty and Rose Stenger Beatty.
Thomas was devoted to education for many years. He taught AP English at Wheeling Park High School, and was also a former Instructor at West Virginia Northern Community College and Wheeling Jesuit University. He was a life long sports fan and in his free time loved his fantasy baseball and fantasy football leagues.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Beatty; his children, Christina Beatty-Walters (Robert) and Todd A. Beatty (Kathleen); his grandchildren, Lucas Walters and Elise Walters; his siblings, Sue Dzinglski, Bill Beatty, Michael Beatty (Debbie), Kathy Duffy (Jay), Sherry Elbert (Roger), Sally Beatty; and many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 11am, at the White Palace at Wheeling Park.
