Barbara Sue Rose, born on August 5, 1957, in Wheeling, West Virginia, passed away peacefully in her hometown on July 19, 2026, at the age of 68 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Barbara dedicated her life to her family as a full-time stay-at-home grandmother, a role she cherished deeply. Her home was always filled with warmth and laughter, a testament to her fun-spirited and witty nature. She found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

A woman of varied interests, Barbara loved playing bingo and computer games, often sharing these pastimes with friends and family. She was an avid reader, particularly enjoying thrilling novels that kept her on the edge of her seat. A devoted fan of the Redskins, she never missed a game, cheering passionately for her team.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Loretta Adams, and her beloved companion, Biscuit.

Barbara’s life was marked by her deep love for her family. She is survived by her fiancé, Gary Montgomery, who stood by her side with unwavering love and support. She was a beloved mother to her daughters, Michelle Clark and Betty Charlie, and a doting grandmother to Amanda (Justin) Leasure, Aubrey Markwas, Alexus (Natalie) Markwas, Jacob Markwas, Mariah Dripps, and Daniel Riggs. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Landon Leasure, Izabella Dvorcek, LaRyan Dvorcek, Gracelynn Couch, Bentlee Dvorcek, and Rayheem Richmond. Barbara also leaves behind her sister, Bonnie McCloud, and her sisters-in-law, Lisa (Kelly) Montgomery and Tina (John) Boyle, who will all miss her dearly.

Barbara’s memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. Her family and friends will remember her as a beacon of love, humor, and kindness, whose presence enriched their lives immeasurably.
