Shasta Virginia Albert-Janeczko, a beacon of strength, love, and courage, passed away on August 14, 2026, at the age of 32 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on September 1, 1993, in Wheeling, WV, Shasta left this world after a courageous battle with breast cancer, leaving behind a legacy that will inspire all who knew her.
A dedicated and compassionate soul, Shasta was a treasured employee at Elmhurst – The House of Friendship, an assisted living facility in Wheeling. Her unwavering commitment to her work earned her the adoration and respect of her peers and residents alike. She cherished her Elmhurst family, finding immense joy in the companionship and camaraderie of her colleagues.
Shasta had a remarkable ability to balance her professional life with her personal passions. She loved nothing more than spending time with her beloved children, family, and friends. Her heart found happiness in annual vacations to Myrtle Beach, delightful trips to the Amish country, and joyful shopping excursions. Her warmth, kindness, and zest for life touched everyone she encountered.
She is survived by her loving husband, Brandon Janeczko, who stood by her side through every challenge; her devoted father, Dave Toppeto (Myra); her cherished sons, Wyatt and Colton; her supportive sisters, Brittany Wendt (Logan) and Torie Toppeto; her caring mother-in-law, Charlotte Albert, and father-in-law, Dave Janeczko (Cara-Lyn); her sisters-in-law, Alexis and Teresa; as well as her niece Ashtynn, and nephews Braylen, Landry, and R.J. Her dear friend, Sheri Twigg, and all her friends at Elmhurst will forever remember her for her compassionate dedication.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Altmeyer, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling. A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Thursday, August 20 at 11 AM at Altmeyer’s with Pastor Debra Dague presiding, followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling.
