William O'Hara

William “Bill” Earl O’Hara Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, in Woodsfield, Ohio, at the age of 75. Born on April 16, 1951, in Moundsville, West Virginia, Bill lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his country.

Bill proudly served in the United States Army as a combat engineer during the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage and commitment to his fellow soldiers and his nation. Following his military service, he worked as a High Pressure Water Blaster for Hydro Power, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability.

Outside of his professional life, Bill found joy in the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending countless hours enjoying the tranquility and challenge of nature. His love for gardening was evident in the beautiful blooms and bountiful harvests that adorned his home, a testament to his nurturing spirit and patience.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William O’Hara Sr. and Mildred Ilene O’Hara; his son, William Earl O’Hara II; his brother, Bernard Lee O’Hara; and his sister, Peggy Lynn and her husband James Thomas. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving sisters, Melissa and her husband Tom Friend and Stacey and her husband Jeff Metz, and his sister-in-law, Bonnie O’Hara. Bill’s legacy continues through his cherished daughter, Crystal and her husband Danny Marsh, and his adored grandchildren, Madison Marsh, Logan Marsh, and Owen Marsh. He also leaves behind Mary Grady and many other friends who will remember him fondly for his kindness, humor, and unwavering loyalty.

Bill’s life was a testament to the values of hard work, love for family, and appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
