Doris Lee Meigh, born on December 2, 1946, in Wheeling, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, at the age of 79, at the New Martinsville Care Center. Doris was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met.
Doris had a love for social gatherings, playing cards, camping, and fishing. She cherished spending time with her friends, enjoying cookouts, and watching her favorite soap operas. Her laughter and joy were infectious, and everybody loved Doris.
Throughout her career, Doris worked diligently at several companies, including Continental Can, Tri State Machine, and Giant Eagle. Her dedication and strong work ethic were admired by her colleagues and friends alike.
Doris was preceded in death by her loving parents, Thomas and Clara (Culver) Williams, Sr.; her devoted husband, Robert Meigh, who passed in 2018; her brother, Thomas Williams, Jr.; her twin sister, Dorothy Lou Myers; and her cherished grandson, Alex Meigh.
She is survived by her children, Justin (Debbie) Meigh, Alan (Cindy) Meigh, and Brian (Tammy) Meigh; her granddaughter, Madison Dobbs; her great-grandson, Deklan Dobbs; nieces, Candi (Justin) Bozenske and Carla (Sean) Harris; and her best friend, Patty Warble. Doris’s family and friends will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, located on Marshall Street in McMechen, WV.
Doris Lee Meigh will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
