Debra Evans

Debra Sue Evans, 69, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, in Wheeling, WV. Debra was born on March 3, 1957, in Washington, PA, the daughter of the late Charles Harry, Sr. and Grace Alena Anderson Houston.

In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Evans, Sr.; her daughter, Veronica (James) Jones; and her son, Donald (Jamie) Evans.

Debra is survived by her two sisters, Delores and Joan; two brothers, Charles and Larry; seven grandchildren, Natalie (husband Alexander), Alena, Hailey (fiancé Ryan), Zack, Michael (fiancée Sarah), Eric, and Jeremy; her one great-grandchild Asher, son of Natalie and Alexander; as well as her stepson, Ronald Evans, Jr.

Debra was a god fearing woman who found joy in the little things. She could be over the moon excited to receive a bottle of Coca-Cola for Mother’s Day, and she could never resist a quiet night at home watching her favorite Netflix shows with her beloved pets by her side. She would gladly answer the phone at six o’clock in the morning, no matter how tired she was, just to listen to her great grandson, Asher, excitedly tell her all about his monster trucks.

Debra had a generous heart and a way of making everyone feel welcome. No one ever had to arrive to her home with anything in hand, but they could almost guarantee they would leave with a bag full of goodies. She enjoyed being part of public events, celebrations, and activities within her community, always finding happiness in being surrounded by others and making memories with those she loved. Debra found some of her greatest joy in being a grandmother. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, from camping trips and family gatherings to baking together during the holidays. She had a way of making ordinary moments feel special, creating memories that will be carried in the hearts of her family for years to come.

Her family will remember her not only for the love she gave, but for the memories she created and the place she held in each of their lives. Though her passing leaves a deep emptiness, her love will continue through those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Debra will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
