Russell Anthony Smith, 68, formerly of Indiana Pennsylvania, passed away on October 30, 2026, in Steubenville, Ohio, at the age of 68.
Born July 4, 1958, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Charles W. Kuczer and Anna B. (Johns) Smith.
A dedicated mechanic by trade, Russell found joy not only in his work but also in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid pool player and a passionate supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Above all, Russell cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. His love for working on cars reflected his hands-on nature and commitment to his craft.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Smith, and sister Kathryn Smith.
Survivors include his children, Kayla (Travis Mock) Jakela and Tony (Crystal) Smith, siblings; Arelene Smith, Ted Smith, Ed Smith, Kenny Smith, Emma Smith and Virginia Smith., grandchildren Kaden and Aria Smith, Kaeleb Gibbons, Bella Jakela and Payton and Rylee Whitney, and Dakota Lemmon, as well as the mother of his children; Dorothy Smith and several nieces and nephews.
Per Russell’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Private arrangements have been entrusted to CARE Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 204 West Main Street St. Clairsville Ohio 43950.
