Kimberly “Kim” Kay Anders, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, in Orlando, Florida. Born on May 24, 1966, in Iowa City, Iowa, Kim graced this world with her presence for 59 years.
Kim dedicated her life to nurturing young minds as a devoted teacher. Her passion for education and her gentle spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Outside of her professional life, Kim found joy in crafting, where her creativity and attention to detail shone brightly.
A member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Kim’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith and commitment to her community. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the warmth she brought into every room.
Kim is preceded in death by her loving parents, George Landers and Carol May (Walker) Landers. She is survived by her devoted husband, John R. Anders II; her cherished children, Courtney Southern, Haley Brown, and John R. Anders III; her dear sisters, Michele Landers and Crystal Schultz; her brother, George Landers Jr.; and her treasured granddaughters, Hadley Southern and Lilly Brown. Kim also leaves behind her close friend, Macy Gullikson, who was like family to her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kim’s life at a visitation from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 5th, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home – Elm Grove Chapel, interment will follow at McMechen Cemetery.
Kim’s legacy of love, compassion, and dedication will continue to inspire those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
