On Halloween night in 1969, the world was gifted a beautiful light with the birth of Nicole Rae Lee. Affectionately known as “Nikki Boo,” Nicole was a woman whose vibrant spirit and unforgettable infectious laughter left a lasting imprint on every heart she touched. On February 27, 2026, Nicole departed this life unexpectedly.
Raised with the love and strength that would come to define her life, Nicole carried those qualities with her wherever she went. A proud 1987 graduate of Wheeling Park High School in Wheeling, she shared many cherished memories. during her school years with her cousins Carlos, Charmin, Constina, Felicia, Jose, Marsha, Michael, Rica, Rod, Rodnetta, Trina, Troy and Zelda —a close-knit group who looked after one another like siblings. In 1989, Nicole moved to Fort Riley, Kansas, to live with Charmin while pursuing studies in Information Technology at a local community college. Though she embraced new opportunities, her heart always remained rooted in Wheeling.
Nicole was best known for her contagious laughter; a radiant, joyful sound that could brighten any room and remind everyone around her to find light even in life’s simplest moments. She had a remarkable way of turning ordinary days into treasured memories and offering comfort, kindness, and encouragement to anyone in need. Her love knew no limits, and her devotion to family was unwavering.
She is reunited in eternal peace with her father, Jim Scarbor. To cherish her memory, she leaves her loving mother, Pamela of Wheeling, WV; her brother, Daunte Lee of Atlanta, GA; her daughters, Nakysha McGhee of Tacoma and Nyazia Lee of Wheeling, WV; and her beloved grandsons, Navon and August. She was a pillar of strength and love to her aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends to include Stan Gorczyca and Herb Wallace.
Nicole’s laughter, warmth, and beautiful spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, WV.
