Michelle Caleleen Hartley, 55, of Moundsville, WV, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, March 19, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born on February 25, 1971, in Glen Dale, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ethel Kathleen (Hartley) Wayt. Michelle dedicated her life to her family, deriving profound satisfaction from raising her children and cultivating a nurturing home environment. She devoted numerous years to early childhood education at a local daycare. In her personal time, Michelle found pleasure in playing Palia, embracing its intellectual challenges. Her Baptist faith served as a guiding principle throughout her life, providing her with steadfast strength and solace.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant brother, Lawrence Allen Wayt, Jr.
Michelle is survived by her devoted significant other, Chris Burcham; her five beloved children, Shaela Hartley, Matthew Hartley, Josh Lindstrom, Jordan Hartley, and Caitlyn Lindstrom; her three cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth Hartley, Madisyn Hartley, and Matthew Hartley, Jr.; her three siblings, Tonya Jean Bariteau, David Wayt, and Larry Allen Wayt; and several nieces and nephews.
Michelle will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, her unwavering familial devotion, and her commitment to the welfare and development of others.
