Richard Allen “Rick” Wise, age 72, of Moundsville, WV, passed away with family by his side on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital – WVU.
He was born on December 27, 1953, in Ashtabula, Ohio, a son of Mary Gertrude (Adams) Wise and the late Dean Wise. Rick dedicated years of his professional life to the construction industry. Later, he pursued his passion for music by owning his own karaoke business, “Wise Guy Productions”, bringing joy and entertainment to many through song and community gatherings. Rick carried his passion for music with him his entire life and was a constant source of happiness throughout.
He was also renowned among family and friends for his baking talents, particularly his delightful fudge and pecan pies, which were always a welcome treat at gatherings.
Rick was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Eric Wise; his sister, Susan Cameron and his father, Dean Wise.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his three children, Brandy Whitlatch, Brian Atwell and Casey (Brooke) Atwell; four siblings, Danette (Tom) Scott, Becky Wise, Jeanne Carr and Bob (Janet) Wise; two grandsons, Hunter (Kelsey) Whitlatch and Dawson (Serina) Whitlatch; two great-grandchildren, Finley and Maverick Whitlatch and several nieces and nephews.
