James “Rob” Robert Fish IV, born on May 5, 1967, in Glen Dale, West Virginia, peacefully passed away on April 17, 2026, at the age of 58, at WVU Medicine, Wheeling Hospital.
Rob was a long-time Electrical Engineer whose career was marked by his commitment to excellence and innovation. His professional life was complemented by his 7 years of service in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served as a Paratrooper, Communication Specialist, and Master Marksman during Desert Storm earning several honors including: Air Force training ribbon, expert rifle ribbon, longevity service award, national defense medal, noncommissioned officer ribbon, joint meritorious unit award, good conduct medal with 1 device, outstanding unit award and the Air Force achievement medal.
Beyond his professional achievements, Rob was a courageous man of many passions. He found endless hours of joy while shooting pool, hunting, fishing, and playing poker. He spent weekends listening to rock n’ roll, taking road trips, or at the golf course. Rob’s life was also deeply rooted in his Christian faith and devotion to his family.
Rob is preceded in death by his father, James R. Fish, III; step-father, Glenn Highley; step-brother, Fred Highley; brother-in-law, Randy Myers; and the mother of his children, Lisa Toth.
He leaves behind a large, loving family with many joyful memories: his children, Maegan (Griffith) Lesnock, Corey (Sara) Toth, Aubrey (Alyssa) Bienvenu, and James R. Fish, V; his four beloved grandchildren, Kallie, Lakyn, Cade, and Bristol; his mother, Karen Ruth Highley; and his siblings, Delilah “Dee” McKeen, David (Nancy) Fish, John (Melinda) Fish, Deb (Joe) Highley, and Jeff (Wendy) Highley. Rob is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Larry Jenkins. Interment will follow at Palmer Cemetery in Proctor, West Virginia with full military honors.
