Jo Rae Mason Blanchard, 75, of Wheeling, WV, died Friday, April 24, 2026 at Liza’s Place.
She was born November 12, 1950, in Wheeling, daughter of the late Raymond L. Mason and Doris E. Wilson Mason.
Jo Rae was a nursing assistant at Heartland of Lansing and a member of American Legion Post 89. She loved her family and was the family staple.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings, Otis and Beverly Ann Copeland and James, Dwight, Martha, Anthony and Daniel Mason.
She is survived by her sons, Donald Mason and John (Leah) Mason; daughter, Laquetta Blanchard; grandchildren, Rakiesha, Kiara, Kiylynne and Raymond Mason, Trovonte Blackmon, Lodejia Williams and Tatyana Mason; great-grandchildren, Nahla Blackmon, Zakahi Hyde, Kalyani McPherson, God Rakier Mason, Amavi, Kavian and Azura Newman, Onaleya and Major Shogan, Ra’Nasia Mason, Lilly Linger and Be’Loved Mason Miller; sister, Betty Jean Griffin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to TMC Funding to assist the family with funeral expenses.
