Duane Ellis, age 63, passed away on April 26, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Duane was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Cave Club, and the I.O.L.A Club. He dedicated much of his time to teaching and mentoring others as an NRA instructor and a GoJu-Ryu karate instructor. He had a passion for music, especially the timeless sounds of Pink Floyd, which he greatly enjoyed throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Victoria Ellis; his son, Duane Ellis, Jr.; his brother, Jay Ellis; and his beloved grandson, Declan McCombs.
Duane is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; his daughters, Chrystal and Victoria; his brother, Beau Ellis (Rosie); and his sister, Carmen Callissie (Barb). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Evan, Eliza, Maya, Layla, and Luca, who brought him immense joy.
He fought cancer “hard like a savage” for eleven years, and is now at peace. He will be missed by his family and friends.
