Mary Louise Barr, born on April 14, 1948, in Wade, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home in Moundsville, West Virginia, on April 30, 2026, at the age of 78.
Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. She spent her working years as a bartender at various local establishments, where she was known for her friendly demeanor and ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her love for classic country music was well-known, and she often shared this passion with her family and friends.
Family was the cornerstone of Mary’s life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abbie and Thomas West; her son, Jacob Aaron Henry; and her brother, James West. She is survived by her loving daughter, Melissa Estep; her grandchildren, David (Tiffany Pollock) Estep, Lacy Estep, Jessica Estep, and Felicity Wiley; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family was her pride and joy, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.
A service to honor Mary’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at CARE Funeral and Cremation in Moundsville, West Virginia, with interment immediately following at Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, also in Moundsville.
