James “Jim” R. Rinehart, 88, of West Liberty, WV, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
He was born on November 10, 1937, in Greene County, PA, son of the late Kenneth Duane and Dorothy Helen Maxwell Rinehart.
Jim was a graduate of West Liberty High School and retired from W.A. Wilson as a metal sales supervisor. He was a member of West Liberty Christian Church.
He was an avid fan of West Liberty University basketball. He enjoyed playing golf, going fishing, and loved attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by sister, Norma Jean Litten; and brother-in-law, Robert Litten.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Sara Jane Winters Rinehart; three daughters, Kimberly Jo (Bo) McConnaughy of Elm Grove, WV, Kelly Ann (Paul) Beck of West Liberty, WV, and Kristina Leigh (Larry) Capp of Wheeling, WV; son, James “Jimmy” Rinehart of West Liberty, WV; brother, Richard (Ruth Ann) Rinehart; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at West Liberty Christian Church on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 4-8 PM & Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 10 AM until the time of service at 11 AM with Pastor Dennis Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in Prall Cemetery, West Liberty, WV.
