Patricia Marie Kelley née Kurko, lovingly known as “Pat,” passed away on May 22, 2026, at Shadyside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Shadyside, OH, at the age of 88. Pat was born on September 16, 1937, in Martins Ferry, OH, a daughter of the late Michael and Gertrude Kurko.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Kelley; daughter Tammy Kelley; brothers Michael, Nicholas, and Samuel Kurko; and sisters Constance “Connie” Kurko and JoAnn Bess.
Pat leaves behind her sons Timothy (Rita) Kelley and Lawrence Patrick (Tori) Kelley; daughter Donna Kelley; sister Shirley Kurko; grandchildren Tiffany (Clayton) Rico, Natalie (Jacob) Christensen, Brittany Kelley, Joshua (Cassie) Kelley, Brooke (Kevin) Kelley, and TJ (Kaitlen) Kelley; and her great-grandchildren Brock and Weston Rico; Cora, Jones, and Mya Christensen; and Georgia Joy Kelley.
Pat was the best grandma and great-grandma ever, always putting her family first. She loved cooking and adored animals including her fur granddogs and great-granddogs and grandcats. An avid Wheeling Thunderbirds and then Nailers fan, she enjoyed sharing hockey games with her grandkids.
Pat’s private services have been entrusted to Altmeyer Funeral Homes Wheeling Chapel.
Befitting her love of animals, Pat’s family suggests that memorial contributions in her honor be made to the local animal shelter of your choice.
