Albert Morris Jr, 87, of Calcutta, passed away at his home on May 22, 2026, surrounded by his family. Albert was born on March 28, 1937, in Wellsville OH, the son of the late Albert and Lula (Bailey) Morris.
Al lived in the area his entire life and spent most of his life as a self employed construction worker, retiring in 1995.
In his down time, Al found his greatest peace outdoors, where the sounds of the water and quiet of nature made him feel most alive. Fishing wasn’t just a hobby to him, it was where he found the simple joys of life. He treasured every early morning cast, every story shared on the shore, and every moment spent outdoors doing what he loved the most. In his younger years, he enjoyed spending time in the woods hunting. The time spent tracking through the wilderness left him with a deep, lifelong appreciation for nature.
Along with his parents, Al was preceded in death by his 11 siblings: Orville Morris, Virgil Morris, Donald Morris, Chalmer Morris, Helen Morris, Ester Morris, Betty Morris, Fredia Morris Springer, Velma Morris, Nellie Morris Noblitt, and Paul Morris
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Lee Wilkes, of Calcutta, Paul (Faye) Morris, of Lisbon, and David (Jeni) Morris, also of Lisbon. He also leaves 6 grandchildren: Alex, Kennedy, Leo, Andria, Alesha, and Anna and 8 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his significant other, Jean Barnhart
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 12:30 PM at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Wellsville.
The MacLean Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation have been entrusted with Al’s care.
