JoAnn McConnaughy Stahl, 88, of Wheeling passed away on Monday July 6, 2026.

She was born in Wheeling on May 21, 1938, daughter of the late Charles and Genevieve (Rosanski) McConnaughy

JoAnn was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy. She was a Catholic and member of St. Michael Church where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. Although Jo Ann worked at both the Wheeling Clinic and the Wheeling Park Commission at one time, her true calling was a devoted wife, mother, sister, mana (grandmother) and great mana. Family was everything and she always hosted the holidays, gatherings and celebrations for family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Thomas Stahl Sr; in laws, Lawrence and Mary Helen (Murphy) Stahl; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Ike Calissie; brother/sister-in-law, Larry and Georgia Stahl, Jim and Sandy Stahl and sister-in-law Marissa Stahl Nolan.

JoAnn is survived by her children, Thomas (Gretchen) Stahl, Jr., of Brighton, MI, Christine (Douglas) Teagarden, of West Alexander, PA, Richard (Suzanne) Stahl and Kathleen (Eric) Michaels, both of Wheeling; grandchildren, Zack Stahl, Mary Stahl, Savannah (Jake) Pollard, Mackenzie Michaels, Trevor (Chelsie) Stahl, Connor (Claire) Michaels, Megan (Max Kellas) Teagarden, Jacob Teagarden; great-grandchildren, Cooper Stahl, Brady Pollard, Addison Pollard, Amari Teagarden; sister, Charlotte Gray; brothers, Chuck (Barbara) McConnaughy, Bo (Kim) McConnaughy; brothers/sisters-in-law, Joan (Tom) Griffey, Phil (Sharon) Stahl, Mary Kay (Doug) Appelt, Eileen (Scott) Elmer, Mike (Theresa) Stahl, Ed Nolan and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received on Friday July 10, 2026 from 4 – 8 pm at Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Rd., Wheeling (304-232-2732). A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday July 11, 2026 at 10:0 am at St. Joseph Cathedral, 13th & Eoff Sts., Wheeling with Rev. Penumaka Manikyalarao officiating.

Entombment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum will follow Mass.
