William Paul Edgar, 73, of Warwood, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at WVU Medicine Ruby Memorial Hospital with his loving wife Rosemary by his side.
Born on April 9, 1953, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Bill was the son of the late Thomas F. Edgar, Sr. and Pauline Hall Edgar. He lost his father while he was a senior in high school, an event that shaped his strength and resilience throughout his life.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to Oglebay Park, where he retired as Paint Supervisor. His craftsmanship, attention to detail, and artistic talent left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
A gifted woodcarver, accomplished woodworker, and talented painter, Bill had a remarkable ability to create beauty with his hands. He loved sharing his knowledge and skills with anyone who wanted to learn, patiently teaching others and encouraging their creativity. Generous with both his time and talents, Bill was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends, neighbors, and strangers alike.
Those who knew Bill will also remember his wonderful sense of humor. He was a natural teaser and jokester who loved making people laugh and bringing smiles to those around him. His kindness, generosity, and playful spirit will be deeply missed.
Bill was a faithful Catholic and was an active member of the Marine Corps League Detachment 771, the Oglebay Woodcarvers Guild, and the Wildlife League of Ohio County, Inc.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas F. Edgar, Jr.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Rosemary Nazzaro; his sister, Barbara (Gary) Bonnell; his children, Joseph (Holly) Nazzaro, Jordan (Toni) Nazzaro, and William Edgar; his nine cherished grandchildren, Georgie, Gracie, Kotryna, Theodore, Victoria, Scarlett, Preston, Britton, and Bethannie; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Lucy and Gi Gi.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes, services and interment were private and held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Church, Corpus Christi School, or Northern West Virginia Toys for Tots, organizations that reflect Bill’s faith and generous spirit.
