Ernest “Skeeter” Harvey Allen, Jr., 60, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026 at his home.
He was born on November 21, 1965, in Ohio County, WV, son of the late Ernest Harvey Allen, Sr. and Joanne Elizabeth Carr Allen.
Skeeter was never held back even with his disability. He was a jokester who had a joke about everything. He was everyone’s friend and was easy to love but always had his moments.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Appleby; and nephew, Toby Mitcham, Jr.
Skeeter is survived by his loving partner, Karen Ernest; six children, Brandy, Ashley, Jessica, Joshua, Eric, and Cheyenne; several grandchildren; five siblings, Michael Carr, Kelly Carr, Robin (Toby) Mitcham, Jeffrey (Lora) Appleby, and Leslie Davis; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a date and time to be announced.
