Edna Slider, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on September 29, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on August 2, 1947, in Cameron, West Virginia, she was the cherished daughter of the late Richard and Bertha (Anderson) Dawson.
Throughout her life, Edna dedicated herself to her family and home as a devoted homemaker. Her love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life, and she found immense joy in spending time with them. She was known for her warmth and kindness, always ready to lend a listening ear or share a cup of coffee. Edna also enjoyed long car rides, which provided her with moments of reflection and peace.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Bertha Dawson; her two husbands, Arthur Lashare and Riley Slider; her granddaughter, Daisy Mae Wood; and her siblings, Betty (Raymond) Conner, Thelma (George) Lashare, David Dawson, and Donna Dawson.
She is survived by her loving children: Mary Lashare, James Dawson, Donna Wilson, and Carolyn Lashare. Edna leaves behind 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Edna’s legacy is one of love and devotion. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, whose nurturing spirit and gentle guidance will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Edna’s care has been entrusted to CARE Funeral & Cremation of Moundsville, WV.
