Corine Rigby Zimmerman, age 68, passed away peacefully at her home in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on October 12, 2026, following a long illness.
Born on May 12, 1958, in Moundsville, West Virginia, Corine was a devoted homemaker who dedicated much of her life to caring for her family and those around her. A natural caregiver, she had a special love for caring for babies and found great joy in nurturing children and animals alike. Her interests included watching movies and soap operas, which brought her comfort and happiness throughout her life.
Corine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. Zimmerman; her parents, Elmer Rigby, Sr. and Bertha (Parker) Rigby; and six siblings Elmer Rigby, Jr., Edward Rigby, Harry Rigby, Bertha Smoot, Mary Lemons, and Helen Rody.
She is survived by her children, David (Mary) Lasure and Nora Howard; fourteen cherished grandchildren; five siblings, Frank Rigby, Ralph (Katricia) Rigby, Rose Johnson, Nora Rigby, and Alice Rigby; as well as several nieces and nephews who will all dearly miss her warmth and kindness.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, WV 26003.
Corine’s gentle spirit, loving nature, and dedication to her family will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and care that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have shared in her life.
