Beatrice Amazetta Byrd Hawkins, 67, of Wheeling, WV passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Wheeling Hospital.
She was born March 30, 1959 in Wheeling, daughter of the late Purcell and Edith Jones Byrd.
A devoted member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Beatrice found great joy in singing with the Voices of Praise choir. She was an avid fan of her Pittsburgh Steelers and loved cheering them on, but above all else, she cherished every moment spent with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie Hawkins; her granddaughter, Ambrielle Hawkins; her brothers, DeWayne Byrd, Michael Byrd, Phillip Byrd; and her stepfather, Timothy Brown.
Beatrice is survived by her children, Henry Hawkins, Latisha “Renee” Hawkins, Jackie Byrd, Philtrisha Byrd-Hendricks; her niece, Courtney Byrd; her brother, George Byrd; her grandchildren, Tremayne Hawkins, Shawndale Saunders Jr. (Shiboo West), Jurnee Hawkins, Della Raine, Madelyn Hawkins; her great-grandchildren, Tremayne Hawkins Jr., Jaylah Byrd, Jackie Byrd II, Kayson Byrd, Santiago Byrd, Jackielynn Byrd, Amire Hocker, Richard Hendricks, Jr., Paris Hendricks, Hudson, Sayloni Saunders-West, Shakur Saunders-Paige; great-nieces, Cor’Dayzha & Car’Leigha Byrd; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Norma Seals, Leanora “Sissy” Wallace,Tonya Pervall, Tony (Mary Lou) Otey, Phyllis Green, Linda Lewis, Lonette Walker, Keith Creighton, David Coles, Tara Comer Avila; and a special thank you to all her special church family at Macedonia Baptist Church.
Memorial visitation will be Monday, October 19, 2026 from 11am until time of memorial service at 11:30am, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 105 12th St. Wheeling, WV. Arrangements by Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St. Wheeling (304-242-2311).
