Roland B. Mason passed away on January 24, 2026, at his home. He was born February 7, 1946, and was 79 years old at the time of his passing.
He was a proud member of United Mine Workers. He retired to his farm, where he enjoyed raising chickens, time at his sawmill, cutting firewood, spending time with his sons and talking politics. He was America first and proud 2A supporter. Roland was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Friend and Beryl Mason; his beloved wife, Joyce Mason; and his youngest son, Michael E. Mason.
Roland lives on through his surviving son, Jeffrey (Betty) Mason; daughter-in-law Tasha Mason; sister, Karen Baker; and two brothers, Dale (Sandy) Mason and Bill Simmons (Melody Shreve). He has five grandchildren, Kodi Mason, Marshall Mason, Kiersten Jackson, Abby Mason, and Michael Mason, Jr. He has several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Roland had many friends and a loving companion of 14 years, Bobbie Patterson.
Roland’s private arrangements have been entrusted to CARE Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists Moundsville Chapel. There will be no services at his request. Memories and condolences may be shared with Roland’s family on this page.
